'Dancing' Russian plane prompts investigation


Russian aviation authorities have launched an investigation after amateur footage circulated showing a Tupolev aircraft veering through the sky over Moscow.
Footage of the aircraft posted on a social media website shows the model Tu-154 twisting from side to side before pilots manage to land it safely at the second attempt at a military aerodrome outside Moscow.

The Tupolev was reportedly being flown for the first time in 10 years on its way to a repair centre from Chkalovsky airfield near the Russian capital, on 29 April.

The barely-controllable jet-engine, which dates back to the 1960s, has been nicknamed the "dancing plane" online, but Russian authorities are less amused.
