S. Korean Coast Guard to introduce 4 patrol planes from Indonesia

CN-235 PersuaderSouth Korea's Coast Guard said Friday that it will introduce four maritime patrol planes from Indonesia's state aircraft manufacturer this year for the first time.

Seoul ordered four CN-235 aircraft for maritime patrol operations in December 2008 under a US$100 million contract, and the company, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), was to deliver two of the aircraft by the end of 2010 and the rest by April.

The Coast Guard said it will send its officials to Indonesia around next week to confirm the delivery schedule and ask the Indonesian side to pay a penalty for the delay.
