Raytheon’s SM-3 Block IA successfully completed its 19th intercept

SM-3Raytheon’s SM-3 Block IA successfully completed its 19th intercept during a flight test at the Pacific Missile Range Facility, in Kauai, Hawaii.

Demonstrating two distinct capabilities, the SM-3 Block IA proved it can engage an intermediate- range ballistic missile target when launched on remote.

The continued evolution of the SM-3’s capabilities increases the defense of the U.S. and its allies by bringing innovative missile defense solutions to the U.S. Navy’s forward-deployed Aegis ships.
