Ice patrol ship replaced

MV PolarbjornA Portsmouth Royal Navy ship which almost sank off Chile IN 2008 after a maintenance error is to be replaced.

A Norwegian ship will be leased for three years while the future of Antarctic ice patrol vessel HMS Endurance is decided.

The replacement will arrive in Portsmouth in May to be fitted with specialist military equipment for deployment.
