Singapore company to renovate Success

HMAS SuccesA Singapore company is to convert the Australian navy tanker HMAS Success to a double hull to meet oil spill standards.

Defence says it has selected ST Marine (Singapore Technologies Marine) as the preferred tenderer as it gives the best value for money and the shortest time out of service for the ship.

The conversion is needed to ensure Success meets International Maritime Organisation standards for environmental protection against oil spills.
