Raytheon to Design Technology Demonstrator for Air and Missile Defense Radar

Arleigh Burke-class destroyerRaytheon Company received a $112.3 million contract to design and develop an S-band radar and radar suite controller technology demonstrator for the U.S. Navy's new Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR).

This highly advanced system will provide unprecedented capabilities for the Navy's Arleigh Burke-class destroyers.

AMDR is being developed to fill capability gaps identified by the Joint Requirements Oversight Council in May 2006.
