Faulty radar delays Minuteman 3 missile test

Minuteman IIIA Minuteman 3 missile test at Vandenberg Air Force Base has been delayed two days so crews can fix a faulty radar on a ship positioned near the ICBM's intended target, Air Force officials said today.

The problem pushed the launch attempt to Friday morning, when the weapon is set to blast out of an underground silo on North Base. Liftoff is planned between 3:01 and 6:01 a.m.

The team had been shooting for blastoff this morning until downrange equipment needed to support the launch experienced a problem.
