Raytheon tapped for more Aegis components

AN/SPY-1The U.S. Navy will receive advanced purchased materials from Raytheon for the Aegis weapons systems aboard two new destroyers, the company said Monday.

The contract for materials and associated services for the AN/SPY-1D(V) transmitter group and MK99 Mod 8 Fire Control System is valued at $59.2 million.

"For three decades, Raytheon has provided highly capable naval radar components and world-class support for Aegis-equipped ships worldwide," said Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems' John Kelly, director of Sensor Systems.
