INS Betwa sent on anti-piracy mission to Gulf of Aden

Brahmaputra classThe Navy has sent one of its frigates to fight piracy in the Gulf of Aden.

The warship would have an armed helicopter and a team of Marine commandos on board to act as deterrent against the sea brigands, who have been wrecking havoc by hijacking cargo vessels for ransom.

It will replace another frigate that has been patrolling the Somali waters for over a month now.
