Work set to start on fifth Astute submarine at BAE Systems Barrow

Astute class submarineWork is set to start on the fifth Astute submarine.

BAE Submarine Solutions Ltd manager director John Hudson revealed work on the fourth Astute submarine, Audacious, is well under way.

And Mr Hudson surprised delegates when he announced the yard expected to start on a fifth Astute submarine ‘soon’.
