Russia to develop Navy’s fleets, coastal complexes

Project 955 Borey nuclear-powered strategic submarineRussia, alongside developing the fleets of its naval forces, will be investing heavily into coastal infrastructures, the chief of the General Staff, General of the Army Nikolai Makarov, told the media on Wednesday.

“As for the means of attack, we are shifting exclusively to the acquisition of smart weapons, capable of effectively coping with the task of eliminating energy targets on the sea and on the ground,” he said.

He recalled the corvette class ship that entered duty just recently.
