Navy Planes Fail to Get US Sensor

P-3CKThe planned delivery of eight refurbished U.S. P-3C maritime patrol aircraft to the South Korean Navy has been delayed again, due to U.S. export restrictions on key electronic warfare equipment, according to the nation's arms acquisition agency, Sunday.

The P-3CK program, initiated in 2005, has already seen a delay of nearly one year and a half due to integration and redesign problems in the process of refitting the older planes, which had been put to service in the 1960s.

The first stage of delivery had originally been scheduled for 2008 and the final delivery for 2010.
