Assembly of UK Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier started

Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrierThe first components, to begin assembly operations for the new UK Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers, arrived yesterday at Rosyth shipyards, in Scotland. The ships of this class will be two, the "Queen Elizabeth" and the "Prince of Wales".

This has been the first of a series of about 20 shipments that are going to continue until January 2012.

These components have been built by Babcock, member of the Aircraft Carrier Association, in Appledore and the transport has been carried out in cooperation with experts from the ministry of defence.
