Sea trial success for Dauntless destroyer

Type 45 destroyerA warship built on the Clyde has returned home, with crucial sea trials hailed a success.

The safe return of Dauntless, the second type 45 destroyer built on the Clyde, is a boost to the Govan and Scotstoun yards in Glasgow, as doubts remain over their long-term future.

Dauntless, launched in 2007, spent three weeks at sea, covering 4500 nautical miles in the Clyde and North Channel, being put through a series of tests.
