Boeing builds locally, sells globally


On July 8, Boeing will deliver the first of 24 new F/A-18 Super Hornets to Australia as that country upgrades its aging fleet of fighter planes.

The order will generate at least $1.3 billion over the next four years for Boeing’s St. Louis-headquartered Integrated Defense Systems division, Missouri’s second-largest employer.

The roar of jet engines that will accompany Wednesday’s takeoff from Lambert Airport is a sound Boeing executives want to hear more often.
