An ignition in some rubber covering the front part of the submarine Orenburg caused a fire that lasted for nearby two hours Thursday morning at the Zvezdochtka yard in Severodvinsk.The fire started during work on cutting the hull of the submarine. There were no casualties and no damage to the shipyard itself, Zvezdochka reports at their website.
The submarine Orenburg is in its last stage of dismantlement and the yard says there is no danger of chemical or radiation pollution from the rest of the submarines’ hull.
