General Dynamics NASSCO delivers USNS Carl Brashear to US Navy

USNS Lewis and Clark (TAKE-1)General Dynamics NASSCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, Wednesday reported delivery of the ship, USNS Carl Brashear or T-AKE 7 to the US Navy.

NASSCO has delivered first seven ships of the T-AKE class NASSCO has also won construction contracts for five additional ships.

The ship was named in honor of Carl Maxie Brashear, the first African-American to become a U.S. Navy Master Diver in 1970.
