SCANTER radars selected for the French FREMM Program

FREMM FrigateKongsberg Defence & Aerospace and DCNS have selected Terma to supply the SCANTER 2001 Navigation and Surveillance Radar to be fitted on the French Fregate Europeenne Multi-Missions (FREMM) Program.

Initiated in early 2008 and continuing until the summer of 2010, Terma is tasked with delivering two SCANTER 2001 radar systems in the newest version with 7´ antennas and SCANTER Tracking Units for each ship.

Helicopter landing
One of the radar systems will be utilized primarily for navigation and surveillance, whereas the other radar system is to guide helicopters when landing on the frigates.
