NG contracted for Iraqi C-130 upgrades

Lear Siegler Services Inc. has contracted Northrop Grumman to upgrade the Iraqi air force's C-130 cargo aircraft.

U.S. company Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine business unit was awarded a Foreign Military Sales contract to provide radar upgrades for the Iraqi air force C-130 cargo aircraft.

Under the $5.1 million deal, officials say Sperry Marine will replace obsolete radar technologies on the C-130 with new AN/APN-242 weather and navigation radars among other upgrades.
