SKorea showcases new missiles at military parade

South Korea showcased guided missiles and other new weaponry in a parade marking the 60th anniversary of its armed forces.

The parade through southern Seoul involved 86 new weapons -- developed here or introduced from abroad -- such as tanks, armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft guns and guided missiles, organizers said.

Some 2,500 soldiers and hundreds of veterans from South Korea and other countries took part in the first street parade in five years.

    What is the missile pictured? A stealthy cruise missile?

  2. The AGM-84H SLAM ER (Expanded Response) is an upgraded version of the combat-proven land attack SLAM missile. The SLAM ER missile features an extended range an improved aerodynamic performance thanks to the use of planar wings. A new warhead has been provided to the SLAM ER missile for better penetration of hardened targets.
