BAE Systems has been awarded a contract worth up to US $65.8 million from the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Alliance to provide the Mk 45 Mod 4 Gun for the Royal Australian Navy's (RAN) Hobart Class Air Warfare Destroyers (AWD).
The contract, managed by Raytheon Australia for the AWD Alliance, calls for BAE Systems to deliver a total of three gun systems, which will be part of each AWD's surface warfare package that includes the mission of firing extended range munitions in support of land forces.
Raytheon is the weapon and radar systems integrator for the program.
