Singapore Takes Delivery of Its Last Stealth Frigate

French military shipyard DCNS has delivered the sixth and last Formidable class frigate, the RSN Supreme for Singapore, a step which also marks the end of the technology transfer agreement to Singapore's ST Marine shipyard.

The first frigate, the RSN Formidable, commissioned on May 5, 2007, was constructed in France but the five others were constructed in Singapore by ST Marine under DCNS supervision.

Three other frigates, the RSN Steadfast , RSN Intrepid and RSN Tenacious were commissioned on February 5, 2008. The last two, the RSN Supreme and RSN Stalwart, will be delivered to the Singapore Navy in the first quarter of 2009 and are currently undergoing harbour and sea trials.
