USS North Carolina To Launch Saturday

The USS North Carolina, a new nuclear attack submarine launched earlier this year, will be coming to Wilmington on Saturday for its dedication, complete with fireworks on Friday night.

The submarine will officially join the fleet in a Navy commissioning ceremony at the Port of Wilmington on Saturday morning, hosted by the City of Wilmington.

Although the submarine event is not open to the public and is under tight security, around 5000 people are expected for the event.
