UK military says it's looking at sharing an aircraft carrier with France

Britain is in discussions with France over the shared use of the countries' aircraft carriers, a British military spokeswoman said Sunday.

A report in the Sunday Times quoted a French official as saying that France might be able to borrow a British carrier should its own be in the dock for maintenance, and a British military spokeswoman said the move was theoretically possible, although very unlikely.

«We have agreed that, in theory, this is something we would do,» the spokeswoman said, speaking anonymously in line with military policy.
