Pakistan tests nuclear-capable missile

Pakistan military has successfully test-fired a ground-hugging cruise missile capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads.

The Hatf-VIII (Ra'ad) missile, developed exclusively for launch from the air, has a range of 350 kilometers (217 miles), the military said in a statement release on Thursday.

Pakistan routinely tests missiles. It became a declared nuclear power in 1998 by conducting nuclear tests in response similar tests carried out by rival India.
