The Russian military will test a new missile defense system in August before putting it into combat duty, a military official says.Col.-Gen. Yuri Solovyov, commander of the the Russian air force's special command troops, said the plan to test the S-400 Triumf system was going according to plan and the system could soon be in service with Russian regiments, ITAR-TASS reported Sunday.
"We hope to receive this system in July-August 2008, test it and then put it on combat duty. Permanent combat readiness regiments will be the first to be re-equipped with new air defense missile systems," Solovyov said.
