Lockheed Martin Overseas Corp. and the Romania Ministry of Defense have signed a contract for the co-production of 17 multi mission surveillance radar systems.
The radars are TPS-79(R) for Romania's Phase II "Gap Filler" program. The company did not say how much the contract was worth.
Lockheed Martin will build the radar components and sub assembles for the radar systems at its plant in Salina. A Romanian company, UTI Systems SA, will provide additional components and its employees will take part in the radars' integration and testing in Salina and Romania
