Czech military to get its first submarine

A submarine from Albania will soon become part of the Czech military equipment, which is quite unusual for this land-locked country, the daily Lidove noviny (LN) wrote Wednesday.

The old, discarded submarine will not, however, be used as a weapon but will be on display in the Military History Museum in Lesany, Central Bohemia, the paper writes.

The Russian-made submarine Whiskey was produced in 1954 and served in the Albanian navy until 1994, the daily adds.
