UK to supply Harrier frames to India

The UK is to supply four Sea Harriers air frames to the Indian Navy to cannibalize them for spares for use in India's Jump Jet squadrons.

According to Hugh Thomas, a top British Defence Ministry official who was at the Defense Expo in India, "We have negotiated a deal with the navy for supplying four air frames of Sea Harriers from our naval surplus."

He went on to add that the two countries were in an advanced stage of negotiations for supplying India with Submarine Rescue Vehicles for the Indian Navy, PTI reported.
