BAE Systems has flown one of its Nimrod weather surveillance aircraft to the United States for trials."Nimrod MRA4 development aircraft PA01 has arrived in America for a four to six week program of Icing Certification flights," the company said in a statement last week.
"The flights will demonstrate the performance of the airframe and engine intake anti-icing systems, windscreen heating and air data probe heating and demonstrate the aircraft handling characteristics in these conditions.
