BAE Nimrod has U.S. test flights

BAE Systems has flown one of its Nimrod weather surveillance aircraft to the United States for trials.

"Nimrod MRA4 development aircraft PA01 has arrived in America for a four to six week program of Icing Certification flights," the company said in a statement last week.

"The flights will demonstrate the performance of the airframe and engine intake anti-icing systems, windscreen heating and air data probe heating and demonstrate the aircraft handling characteristics in these conditions.
