Multi-million pound repairs ground spy plane for year

A spy plane is to remain out of action following damage to its fuel and electric systems.

The E-3D Sentry aircraft - more commonly known as an AWACS plane - is based at RAF Waddington, near Lincoln.

It was struck by training equipment uprooted by high winds at the base in January and will remain out of action for another year.
