First Russian Task Force since 1996 passes through Med

A Russian Task Force is at this moment passing through the Mediterranean for the first time in over ten years.

The Force comprises of five Russian War Ships, lead by Russia’s only Aircraft Carrier the ‘Kuznetsov’.

The last time a Russian Task Force was seen in the Med was in 1996.

According to an MoD spokersperson, the Russian deployment is on exercise.

The Task Force was due to pass through the Med yesterday, however due to bad weather, which will also hinder visibility of the War Ships today, the Force was delayed.
