Eurocopter-Led Group Gets EUR1.8 Billion French Helicopter Order

French arms procurement agency DGA said Friday it has ordered 68 NH90 tactical heavy helicopters from a Eurocopter-led consortium in a deal worth EUR1.8 billion.

The French Defense Ministry has previously ordered 27 of the aircraft in 2007, and its multiyear procurement program calls for orders for another 22 NH90s in 2008 and a further 34 in 2010.
