Possible 1.3 billion dollar sale of munitions, missiles to Israel: US

The Pentagon announced Wednesday a possible sale to Israel of 1.3 billion dollars in missiles and munitions, including "bunker defeat" weapons.

"It is vital to the US national interest to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability," the Defense Security and Cooperation Agency said in a statement.

"This proposed sale is consistent with those objectives."
