Britain to buy sixth Globemaster III

Britain has announced it will purchase a sixth C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft from Boeing.

Earlier this month Britain said it intends to purchase a sixth Boeing C-17 for its Royal Air Force.

That announcement was a vote of confidence in the program and reinforced the airlifter's position as the world's airlifter of choice, said Dave Bowman, vice president and general manager of Boeing Global Mobility Systems.
