Deactivation of Malmstrom missiles no surprise

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usDeactivation of 50 Minuteman-Three missiles at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, and the 564th Missile Squadron along with them, comes as no surprise.

The Pentagon confirmed in March that the move was upcoming.

Last year the Pentagon said it would downsize the nation's stockpile of 500 missiles, based at Air Force bases in Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota, by ten percent or 50 missiles. And military brass indicated the missiles would probably come from Malmstrom.
