The military told lawmakers of the plans at a closed-door hearing on Thursday of the parliamentary defence committee, said Ho Min-hau of the Taiwan Solidarity Union, an ally of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Ho, one of the committee’s leaders, told AFP the planes would “become more critical should war break out and the military airports be severely damaged.”
