FLIR Systems, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a $36.4 million firm fixed-price contract from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Alabama for its Star SAFIRE® III stabilized multi sensor systems.
The units delivered under this contract will support the U.S. Marine Corps G-BOSS (Ground-Based Optical Surveillance System) program. Work will be performed in FLIR's Portland, Oregon production facility. Deliveries will begin immediately.
"This contract, a continuation of FLIR's relationship with the Army RAID Program Office, demonstrates the value of our systems for force protection applications. We are pleased the U.S. Marine Corps has chosen FLIR products for this critical mission," said Earl R. Lewis, President and CEO of FLIR Systems, Inc.
