Finmeccanica, EADS jv ATR wins 73 mln usd order from Nigerian Air Force

Finmeccanica SpA unit Alenia Aeronautica said its ATR joint venture with EADS has won a 73 mln usd order for two ATR42MP Surveyor maritime patrol planes from the Nigeria Air Force.

The planes will be delivered from 2009 for search and rescue and for environmental protection, it said, adding that the contract includes training for pilots and other operatives.

Seven models of the ATR42MP have been sold in total, some of which are already in service with Italy's financial police and coastguard, it said.
