Daring ready for sea test

HMS DaringThe world's most advanced warship looks set to start sea trials as early as next summer.

HMS Daring is the first of six Type 45 destroyers being built on the Clyde for the Royal Navy.

Work on the ship is on schedule and she is now to be moved to a dry dock.

Commenting on the move, BAE Systems Naval Ships' operations director Ian Pike, said: "Everyone who has worked on Daring is delighted to see her make the final move to dock three to undergo the final series of trials.

"This is a significant day, not only because Daring is the first of the new Type 45 Destroyers to enter this stage of tests, but also because she has done so on schedule and fully in line with our customer's specifications.
