Venezuela dissatisfied with Spain kowtowing to USA over airplane deal

Spanish Foreign Minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos has confirmed the suspension of airplane sales to Venezuelan.

The CASA-EADS company that struck the deal has decided that it wasn't worth the effort to seek alternative parts and spare parts to replace US technological components.
  • The US government has successfully lobbied against the sale of 12 airplanes, 10 of which are C-295 transport planes and two (2) CN-235 maritime patrol panes.
The USA boycotted the deal, alleging that the planes carry parts built in the USA and the USA does not allow transfer of technology to unfriendly governments.
