Thales Selects Barco Displays for Belgian Air Force C-130 Electronic Warfare Upgrade

Modular Rugged Flat Displays (MRFD) combine a display module with a display control module, connected by a single cable.Thales has selected Barco's brand-new CHDD-254 Cockpit Head Down Displays for the Electronic Warfare upgrade of the Belgian Air Force C-130 aircraft. The 5 x 4 inch CHDD-254 display is the first member of Barco's new, innovative CHDD-2000 display family.

Under the contract, Barco will provide CHDD-254 displays to be connected to the Thales Electronic Warfare suite that will be mounted onto the Belgian Air Force C-130H fleet. The low weight, low power CHDD-254 displays are qualified to meet the most stringent airborne cockpit environmental requirements and are designed according to DO-254 and DO-178B standards. Their excellent optical characteristics, including NVIS, their multiple analog or digital video inputs and their integrated video processing capabilities offer an unlimited degree of freedom for all types of avionics system integration.
