Lockheed Martin delivers F-16 to Oman, taking total to record 4,300

Lockheed Martin delivered its 4,300th F-16 Fighting Falcon from its Fort Wort facility in Texas today.

The aircraft, part of an order for 12 Advanced Block 50 F-16s destined for Oman, rolled out without ceremony earlier (pictured below).

Lockheed Martin delivered its 4,300th F-16 Fighting Falcon from its Fort Wort facility in Texas today.

The delivery makes it the most popular fighter aircraft in history. “This marks another significant milestone for the F-16, the most sought after fighter in history,” said June Shrewsbury, vice president, Lockheed Martin F-16 programmes.

The 4,300 aircraft in total have been delivered to 24 countries, making the F-16 the only international aircraft programme that can claim more than 50 follow-on buys by 14 repeat customers.

The Omani F-16s are one of six F-16 aircraft orders currently in production at the Fort Worth facility, with production also ongoing for Chile, Greece, Israel, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.
