The Typhoon fighter jet in 60 seconds


The Typhoon is an £80 million twin-engine, multi-role combat aircraft capable of being deployed in a range of operations - from air policing to high intensity conflict.

It needs just 700 metres to take off and land - and is capable of speeds of Mach 2 at an altitude of 55,000 ft.

The plane is so advanced that it cannot be flown by a human without the help of a computer.
