Two small-size gunnery ships of Project 21631, Zelyony Dol and Serpukhov, will join the Black Sea Fleet and are currently undergoing trials in Novorossiysk, Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Adm. Viktor Chirkov has announced.
"Four more ships of the project are expected to be built to replenish the Black Sea Fleet and all of them will be tested here in Novorossiysk," he said during a working visit to Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar territory where he inspected the construction of infrastructure for the deployment of Black Sea Fleet surface ships and submarines.
"The admiral examined the port area in the Tsemes Bay, the berth space and facilities meant for full-scale deployment of diesel-electric submarines of Project 636 joining the Black Sea Fleet," a report of the Defense Ministry press service and information department received by Interfax-AVN on Sept.16 says.
