Air Force, Navy begin joint operations on illegal maritime activities

Nigerian Airforce ATR 42-500The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Nigerian Navy (NN) have re-strategized for a combined effort to combat illegal activities along the Nigerian water ways.

They took the stand during a recent joint maritime operation codenamed ‘OPERATION SAUKAN MIKIYA’.

With this, the illegal activities, which include crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism that often result to environmental pollution, loss of lives/property and huge losses in accruable revenue to the Federal Government of Nigeria, would soon become a thing of the past.
