Seven people were injured when a U.S. Army helicopter crashed on a ship during a training mission off Japan's southern island of Okinawa on Wednesday, the U.S. military in Japan said.
The UH-60 was damaged when it made a "hard deck landing" on the USNS Red Cloud, about 20 miles east of Okinawa at about 1:45 p.m. local time. All 17 crewmembers aboard were rescued, Japan's Kyodo News service reported. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
