Russia successfully test-fires RS-12M Topol ICBM

Topol-M ICBMAn intercontinental ballistic missile has been test-fired from the Kapustin Yar range in Russia.

"A crew of the Strategic Missile Forces test-fired an RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar state central multi-service range in the Astrakhan region at 6:13 p.m. Moscow time on August 22, 2015," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman for the Strategic Missile Forces Col. Igor Yegorov told Interfax.

"The launch aimed to test a prospective warhead of intercontinental ballistic missiles," he said.
