Navy Adds $13.1 Million to Bath Iron Works Contract

USS Coronado (LCS 4)The Department of Defense on Friday awarded Bath Iron Works a $13.1 million modification to an existing contract to provide planning yard services for the entire Independence-class Littoral Combat Ship program.

The award follows an $11.3 million modification announced in May.

Under the original contract, scheduled to end in September, the Bath shipyard supported maintenance sustainment for LCS 2 and LCS 4 variant ships, BIW spokesman Matt Wickenheiser said in May.
