Russia to receive 5th-generation nuclear subs
The Russian Navy will receive two models of the fifth-generation nuclear submarine. The underwater cruiser will ensure combat resistance of strategic submarines, while the other model will be a missile carrier designed to destroy surface targets.
According to Anatoly Shlemov, the head of the department of state defense order of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, the main difference between the two modifications will be about the installation of the compartment with missile weapons.
The honor the build the new nuclear submarines will belong to Malachite design bureau.
